The parcel
Clay-limestone. Three named plots of vines make up this vintage: "Les Vireuils du Dessus", South-East facing and very limestone soil; "Limozin", under Meursault Charmes; and "Les Grands Charrons", stony and hot place, southern exposure. Vineyard: Average age: 45 years, 10,000 vines/ha. Yield: 35 hl/ha. Grape variety: Chardonnay fine type, quality rootstock. Culture: Sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Winemaking & ageing
Whole-bunch pressing, followed by light settling and immediate transfer to Burgundy barrels. Alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by malolactic fermentation, in Burgundy barrels. Ageing: 13 months on the lees, under reductive conditions, without racking, with lees stirring and no SO2.
Tasting notes
Gourmet and fresh, it has all the characteristics to become more refined as it ages: nice reduction on the nose (roasted hazelnuts) with notes of peppermint, verbena, citron, acacia flowers. Its rich and sapid flavor is tense thanks to lovely bitterness.
